Purpose of the Course
Staff Appointments
To improve the professional knowledge of officers so as to enable them to be employed in Grade 3 Staff Appointments and relevant regimental duties.
Maritime & Air Power
To introduce maritime and air power concepts as well as tactical employment of all arms in war at Battle Group level.
Advanced Preparation
To prepare the officers for Senior Command and Staff Courses both local and international.
Course Objectives
To train officers on Minor and Major Staff Duties.
To train officers on the outline structure, roles and deployment of the MDF.
To train officers on the organisation and roles of the major arms, basic administration and deployment of the Land Forces, Airforce, Maritime Force and Malawi Police Services (MPS).
4 To train officers on the Military Doctrine at Battle Group level and describe the doctrine at Brigade level.
To train officers on the employment of Armed Forces in Low Intensity Operations (LIO), Peace Support Operations and Military Aid to Civil Authority (MACA).
To train the officers on how to plan and manage training at Battalion level.
